Multiple polygons
Our multiple polygons feature allows us to represent sites that consist of more than one individual parcel of land in our searches and risk assessment without creating a joining channel.
Benefits of facilitating multiple polygons
This helps with efficiencies, more accurate risk assessments and environmental searches better representing the legal property title.
Multiple polygons are accepted on certain residential and commercial Groundsure products.
Which reports accept multiple polygons?

Residential multiple polygon rules
-
We will accept a maximum of 3 polygons (site parts) per order;
-
The assessment will be carried out against all of the defined site.
For example if there is a risk in one part it will be applied to all. However, for contaminated land we will exclude any separate parking spaces from our assessment when reviewed by a Consultant;
-
The maximum distance between any separate parts of the site can be no more than 250m.
Commercial multiple polygon rules:
-
We will accept a maximum of 5 polygons per order;
-
The assessment will be carried out against all of the defined site. For example, if there is a risk in one part it will be applied to all.
-
The maximum distance between any parts of the site can be no more than 250m.
All site/property polygons will appear on all mapping within the report. The distance and direction stated in data tables will be the distance and direction to the closest polygon.
Please note that we only accept multi-polygon orders when placed via xml or json api.
For help with integrations please contact our Technology Team at dev@groundsure.com
N.B. If we receive a multi-polygon on an unaccepted product we will join all polygons together.
If we receive an order which includes multiple products (one which accepts multi-polygons, and one which doesn't) we will either join the polygons together for all products, or if you require one of the products to include a multi-polygon, the order will need to be cancelled and re-ordered as individual orders.
