Multiple polygons

Groundsure residential reports allow customers to submit sites or individual properties that consist of more than one continuous area (or polygon) for their order. Multi-polygons will be accepted for the following searches:

  • Avista
  • Homebuyers
  • Homescreen
  • Flood
  • Planning
  • CON29M
  • GeoRisk
  • GeoRisk +
  • Cheshire Salt Search
  • Energy & Transportation

Groundsure residential searches are only suitable for a single dwelling so the multiple polygons must still be associated with one premises. An example of when multiple polygons could be used is when there is a parking space or separate garage situated a distance away from the main property.

When “the site” or “the property” is stated within a search it refers to all of the polygons collectively and all risk assessments relate to the site/property as a whole. However for contaminated land we will discount any parking spaces from our assessment when reviewed by a consultant.

In order to ensure a sensible risk assessment and maintain usability of the reports, a maximum of 3 polygons will be allowed for each search and each polygon must be located within a maximum of 250m of each other.

All site/property polygons will appear on all mapping within the report. The distance and direction stated in data tables will be the distance and direction to the closest polygon.

Please note that we only accept multi-polygon orders when placed via xml or json api.

If we receive a multi-polygon on an unaccepted product we will join all polygons together.

If we receive an order which includes multiple products (one which accepts multi-polygons, and one which doesn't) we will either join the polygons together for all products, or if you require one of the products to include a multi-polygon, the order will need to be cancelled and re-ordered as individual orders.
